On February 8th, at 2.45 p.m., there is held a presentation of joint scientific and publishing projects of the National Library of Belarus and Belinvestbank in the sphere of promotion of national book heritage.

The event "We remember the past moving to the future” is to be held within the framework of ХХ Minsk international book fair.

Within three years of a close interaction the library and the bank have realized a lot of striking projects. Most impressive of them is a release of three complete sets of calendars under the common name "We remember the past moving to the future” recognized as one of the best Belarusian calendars of last time.

The first complete set (2011) multilaterally presents the riches and the variety of book heritage of Belarus. Through the old Belarusian book, the image of our country is shown – a bright image of the state directed at the newest technical and scientific achievements (that is visible in the heritage of first printers F. Skorina, I. Fyodorov and P. Mstislavets), educated (Belarusian scientific and educational editions), legal (old legal acts known in whole Europe) and tolerant (the most beautiful editions of different faiths).

The second complete set (2012), through the lithographs of Napoleon Orda from the library’s collections, presents the image of cities and towns of Belarus which had the Magdeburg right in the old days. And finally the last complete set (2013) represents the history of the Belarusian statehood and culture through the key monuments of national writing – the inscriptions on the Boris’ Stones and the Cross of Euphrosyne of Polotsk, texts of annals and chronicles, legal acts and works of art, patriotic newspapers and revolutionary leaflets, hand-written and printed books.

A number of realized joint projects confirm the successfulness of this state-private partnership. The performed work is only the first steps on the way to the strengthening of Belarusian culture, and it will become a basis for realization of new undertakings planned for the near future. Prospects of these undertakings will be slightly opened during the presentation.
