Mikhail Afanasyevich Bulgakov is a great Russian writer and playwright of the 20th century, who had a difficult, happy, rich in artworks and activities life. He created a lot of wonderful works: novellas, stories, feuilletions, reports, sketches, essays, plays, novels and librettos.
The jubilee book exhibition includes nearly 100 publications, such as writer’s works, literature about his life and work.
The majority of Bulgakov’s works is represented by Collected works in 4 volumes (Moscow, 2004), Collected works in 7 volumes (Moscow, 2015); Complete set of works in one volume (Moscow, 2011), which includes 4 cult novels – The Master and Margarita, The White Guard, in many aspects autobiographical and mysterious Theatrical Novel, and the fascinating novel The Life of Mr. Molière.
The book Bulgakov. Encyclopedia (Moscow, 2007) by B. Sokolov reveals peculiarities of the art world of the writer. The edition presents with a documental accuracy faces of Bulgakov, his relatives, friends and enemies.
Many editions, dedicated to life and work of the writer, are remarkable: Mikhail Bulgakov: Riddles and Lessons of Destiny (Moscow, 2006) by V. The book Mikhail Bulgakov (Moscow, 2012) by A. Varlamov from the series Life of outstanding people takes a significant place in the exposition.
The book Mikhail Bulgakov: Photo Chronicle of Life and Work (Moscow, 2011) by Y. Krivonos is of a particular interest. The edition has been prepared to the 120th anniversary of Mikhail Bulgakov and contains more than 500 photos: notes, manuscripts, theatre bills, magazines and newspapers, books with author’s works.
The top point of Bulgakov’s work is the novel The Master and Margarita, which was published in the magazine Moscow in 1966–1967 thanks to the widow of the writer Elena Sergeevna Bulgakova. The novel had been written quite a long time – during the 1929–1940, has several editions (partially published) and manifold comments in many languages.

The exhibition is targeted at readers who are interested in the life and work of the famous Russian writer.
