Stefan Zweig is an Austrian writer, critic, author of many novels and fictionalized biographies. His original, strong and sincere talent had won recognition readership for long ago. The reader’s interest in the writer’s best works does not weaken over the years, but on the contrary, is steadily increasing, and this shows that he was able to contribute to the complex and rich artistic discoveries in literature of the XX century.
The anniversary exhibition presents about 100 documents: the collected works, including The Complete Works in 8 volumes (1992–1993), short stories, historical novels, and books about the life and work of the writer.
The exhibition also presented two editions in his lifetime: Sternstunden der Menschheit: fünf historische Miniaturen (Leipzig, 1927) and Jeremie (Paris, 1929).
The book by K. Grom The Novel-Biography of Stefan Zweig reveals the value of this literary genre and analyzes the writer’s skill. Through the prism of his works Joseph Boucher, Marie Antoinette, Mary Stuart etc Zweig showed his creative quest, ideals, their ideological and artistic development, and his own place in world literature.
The bibliography Stefan Zweig, published in the series "Writers of foreign countries", includes a list of the works by the famous Austrian writer and literature about him, as well as a brief biography.
