Interlibrary loan and documents delivery reading room

The reading room has a service for proving documents by individual and interlibrary loan, access to the deposit collection and electronic information resources.

Individual loan

Employees of public authorities and management, candidates and doctors of sciences, scientific degree seekers, postgraduates, employees of research institutes and industrial enterprises engaged in research and development, teachers of higher, secondary specialized and general education institutions who have a reader’s ticket of library and live in Minsk can use an individual loan.

Documents from the Library's collections are issued for temporary use on a paid basis according to the Price List of paid services.

The procedure of user service of individual loan

Interlibrary loan

Interlibrary loan service is provided to the collective users: republican and foreign libraries and information agencies, and individual users, who has a reader’s ticket of the library.

The documents of the library are issued to the readers through the interlibrary loan system (non-library type entities get the documents of the library on the ground of an agreement for library services) and at the request of individual and collective users, the library documents are ordered from other libraries of Belarus and foreign counties if these library documents are missing in the library.

Deposit Collection

The deposit collection comprises more than 70,000 copies.

The open part of the deposit collection is presented by educational, fine literature, and by periodicals for leisure. Users search for information on their own.

The closed part contains educational and scientific literature of all branches of knowledge. Documents are given by the librarian on duty on the request of the user and presentation of a library card. Deposit collections can be used by the library users who have reader’s ticket.

Electronic information resources

• Electronic resources of the National Library of Belarus:
  • electronic catalog;
  • subject databases "Belarus: from past to present", "Chernobyl", "The History of Belarus", "Culture and Art of Belarus";
  • factographic databases "Belarus in Persons and Events", "Scientists of Belarus";
  • electronic library of theses and abstracts;
  • electronic archive of national periodicals;
  • electronic library;
  • CD library.
• corporate databases;
• licensed electronic information resources;
• the Internet.

Additional services:

• photocopying and scanning of fragments of printed editions;
• copying of information from databases onto users’ data media;
• printing of electronic information.

Opening hours:

Monday – Thursday: 10.00 am – 7.00 pm;
Friday: 10.00 am – 6.00 pm;
Days off: Saturday, Sunday.

Summer time:
Monday – Thursday: 10.00 am – 6.00 pm;
Friday: 10.00 am – 5.00 pm;
Days off: Saturday, Sunday.
