Belozor, Julian

1 Юлиан Юлианович Белозор.JPG Julian Belozor (1862–1942) was a military leader and lieutenant general. Born in the town of Sventyany, Vilna province, he came from an old gentry family of Belozors.

He graduated from the real school (1878) and the Infantry Cadet School in Vilna (1882). He reached the ranks of lieutenant (1884), lieutenant (1888), staff captain (1889), captain (1893), lieutenant colonel (1901), colonel (1904).

During the Russo-Japanese War 1904-1905, he served as a lieutenant colonel of the 5th East-Siberian Rifle Regiment, where he won military glory. Until 1914, he served as a general for assignments under the commander Lechitsky in Amur military district.

From the beginning of the First World War, he was appointed as brigade commander of the 3rd Grenadier Division in the 9th Army, in February 1915, he headed the 2nd Rifle Brigade, later he served as commander of the 9th Army.

After the collapse of the army (March 1918), Belozor had the opportunity to join the White movement and join the detachment of Colonel Drozdovsky, who was moving from Chisinau to join the Volunteer Army, but he refused this idea. He immigrated to Poland.
