Makhrov, Nikolai

19 Николай Семенович Махров.JPG Nikolai Makhrov (1877–1936) was a general. Born in Borisov, he e graduated from Minsk Real School, Moscow Military School (1898), and Nikolaev Academy of the General Staff (1904). He reached the ranks of lieutenant (1898), lieutenant (1901), staff captain (1904), captain (1906), lieutenant colonel (1909), colonel (1913), major general (1917). He fought in the First World War as acting chief of staff of the 79th Infantry Division (1914), commander of the 316th Khvalyn Infantry Regiment, commander of the 313rd Balashov Infantry Regiment (1915), chief of staff of the 2nd Turkestan Infantry Division (1916), chief of the 2nd Siberia Division Army Corps (from 1917 to demobilization). He joined voluntarily the Red Army in 1918.
