Makhrov, Vasily

18 Василий Семенович Махров.jpg Vasily Makhrov (1887–1940) was a colonel. Born in Borisov, Minsk province, h graduated from Mikhailovsky Artillery School and Nikolaev Military Academy (1914). He fought in the First World War. He reached the ranks of staff-captain (1913), captain (1914), colonel. In 1915, he joined the headquarters of the 20th Army Corps. He was among few officers who managed to breakout from the encirclement in the August Forests with Colonel von Dreyer (1915). He was an assistant to the senior adjutant of the department, quartermaster general of the headquarters of the 7th Army (since 1916). In 1918, he joined the Volunteer Army.
