Mrozovsky, Iosif

23 Иосиф Иванович Мрозовский.jpg Iosif Mrozovsky (1857–1934) was a general of artillery. Born in a noble family, Grodno province, he graduated from Polotsk Cadet Corps (1874), Mikhailovsky Artillery School (1877) and Mikhailovsky Artillery Academy. Mrozovsky was appointed commander of the grenadier corps stationed in Moscow (1912). At the head of the corps he entered the First World War, in September 1915 he was appointed commander of Moscow military district. He was mustered out "due to illness" with his uniform and pension (1917).

23 Иосиф Иванович Мрозовский 1.jpgIosif Mrozovsky patronized orphanages, founded the Society for Assisting the Poor Population of Moscow with Fuel, and developed an extensive system of measures to combat speculation and crime.
