Tokarev, Vladimir

30 Владимир Николаевич Токарев.jpgVladimir Tokarev (1867–1915) was a Russian general. Born in a noble family, Vilna province, he graduated from Polotsk Cadet Corps (1885), the 1st Pavlovsk Military School (1887), and Nikolaev Academy of the General Staff (1900). He reached the ranks of lieutenant (1890), staff captain (1898), captain (1898), colonel (1907), major general (1915). He was appointed commander of the 9th Siberian Grenadier Regiment (1913). From the very beginning of the First World War he took part in battles with the Germans, served as chief of staff of the 7th Siberian Army Corps, and commanded at the same time a regiment. He was seriously wounded in a battle on June 13 near Glinyany and died from wounds. Tokarev’s body was transported to Moscow and buried at the Moscow fraternal cemetery.
