On October 24, the National Library hosted the opening of the exhibition "Adtulini – adsulini" ("From there – form here"), which is organized jointly with the Belarusian Union of Artists and introduces modern Belarusian insit art.
Insit art has long been in demand by the Belarusian audience, this is evidenced by the popularity of the famous drawings by Elena Kish, the works of Nikolai Tarasyuk carved in wood, landscapes on argolite and painted cirrates by Vasily Zhernosek, monumental woodwork by Ivan Suprunchik, etc. the features of such art were used by the world-famous Marc Chagall, Pablo Picasso, and modern Belarusian authors – Valentin Gubarev, Marta Shmatova and others. Naive art has always found and will always find its way to the heart of a simple person and an interested art critic.
The exhibition features works by Belarusian artists Yuri Petkevich and Irina Knyazeva made in painting, graphics, and decorative art.
Yuri Petkevich, an artist, poet, writer, widely known in Belarus and abroad, offers viewers unique combinations of fine and literary art, examples of the elite direction of book art – "Artist's books" (Livre d'artiste), made in graphics and painting.
The work of Irina Knyazeva, a senior researcher at the State Museum of the History of Belarusian Literature, an exhibition participant and an inspired creator, is represented by her illustrations for the publications of the Belarusian children's writer Tatiana Dashkevich. Fun, direct works are transferred to the dynamic space of children's games, discoveries and searches.
