An exhibition of art textiles "Splendid World of Indian Textile" the atrium gallery of the National Library of Belarus will open on October 28.

The exhibition introduces the colour, unique culture, bright traditions, philosophy and mythology of India, allowing you to plunge into its historical past, meet the peculiarities of the Indian way of life. Art textiles, ancient and contemporary carpets, woven panels, silk shawls, traditional saris, wood and cotton arts and crafts, painted scrolls on a fabric base, gold embroidery, household items, etc. are on display.

The exhibits are provided by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). The project aims to promote and popularise Indian cultural heritage among Belarusians. Belarus and India fruitfully cooperate in the economic, trade, industrial, cultural and scientific spheres.

The exhibition "Splendid World of Indian Textile" is presented in Minsk for the first time. The exhibition was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of India in the Republic of Belarus and the National Library of Belarus.

The exhibition will run until November 21.
The end date of the exhibition may be changed.

Admission is by the library card or by the Social and Cultural Centre ticket.

On May 5, the 205th anniversary of the birth of Stanislaw Moniuszko (1819–1872), the world-famous composer and conductor, our countryman, who made a significant contribution to the formation of Belarusian musical culture, is celebrated. By this date, the National Library of Belarus has updated the already existing virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region", created five years ago, and now replenished with new unique materials.

On April 25, the National Library of Belarus hosted the opening of the exhibition "Dreams about Belarus", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders and the 85th anniversary of the birth of People's Artist of Belarus Vasily Sharangovich.
