On December 18, 2023, the National Library of Belarus hosted the grand opening of the exhibition"Christmas Palette" for the New Year holidays.

The exhibition "Christmas Palette"  is organized jointly with the International Public Association of Painters, Graphic Artists, Sculptors, Art Historians and Representatives of Other Creative Professions – the "Eurasian Art Community". The Union and the Orthodox parish of the Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God (village Tarasovo) organized the II International Festival-contest of children's creativity. 460 young Belarusian artists aged from 4 to 17 from all over the country took part in the competition. The best works of the winners of the contest, the most beautiful winter fantasies from children from all over Belarus are presented by an exhibition dedicated to the New Year holidays.

In the "Christmas Palette" there is a traditional celebration of Christmas, winter landscapes, symbols of New Year holidays, fairytale plots. The works are united by a common theme - the festive New Year's winter. She appears fabulous, full of hopes, smiles, dreams and expectations of miracles. Ornamental compositions made with gouache and pencils, cheerful, festive and winter-like mysterious works are on display. Paper-cut symbols of the solemn winter and hand-made Christmas dolls are presented. The artists focus on the attributes of the New Year, mummers and angels, as well as personal inventions and fantasies about ordinary people and the fantastic possibilities of the holiday. Birds, angels, fairytale characters, winter houses, Christmas trees, secret landscapes, starry skies, Christmas events, festive celebrations, numerous snowmen, snowballs and other winter games – the artists sought to present familiar subjects in individual manners or chose unusually non-trivial images and situations. The perspective and peculiarity of the works are noticeable, as well as the talent with which novice authors work.

The event was attended by Deputy Director General of the National Library of Belarus Lyudmila Vysotskaya, Chairman of the International Public Association Eurasian Art Community, curator of the “Christmas Palette” contest Larisa Shakhnovich, artist-teacher, member of the International Guild of Painters, regional public organization Creative Community Eurasian Art Union" (Moscow) Viktor Danilov, artist-teacher, corresponding member of the International Academy of Culture and Art (Moscow). the member of the Belarusian Union of Artists, regional public organization "Creative Community “Eurasian Art Union” (Moscow) Leonid Gomonov, artist, member of the art studio "AKVAVIR", awarded the special prize of the President of the Republic of Belarus "for a great contribution to the education of creative youth", member of the jury of the II International Festival-contest Gunefa Matyushenkova, an artist-teacher, member of the International Public Association "Eurasian Art Community", co-curator of the II International Festival-contest of children's creativity "Christmas Palette" Julia Koba.

On the eve of the New Year holidays, the warmth, diligence, and skill of the young contestants of the "Christmas Palette" give a holiday, joy and a pleasant premonition of a miracle to the staff and visitors of the library!

The completion date of its work can be changed.

On May 5, the 205th anniversary of the birth of Stanislaw Moniuszko (1819–1872), the world-famous composer and conductor, our countryman, who made a significant contribution to the formation of Belarusian musical culture, is celebrated. By this date, the National Library of Belarus has updated the already existing virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region", created five years ago, and now replenished with new unique materials.
