On February 6, 2024, the National Library hosted the finishing of the exhibition of illustrations for the works of Sergei Mikhalkov "The most important giant".

The exhibition was dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the birth of Sergei Vladimirovich Mikhalkov, a writer, playwright, publicist, fabulist, screenwriter, as well as a major public figure, author of the text of the National Anthem of the Russian Federation.

The exhibition "The most important giant" presents some of the best illustrations for the works of Sergei Mikhalkov. The exhibition includes works by such famous Soviet artists as Sergei Alimov, Eric Bulatov, Mikhail Skobelev, Viktor Chizhikov, Fedor Lemkul, Juvenal Korovin and others.

Deputy Director General of the National Library of Belarus Lyudmila Vysotskaya, head of the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Republic of Belarus Yuri Makushin, First Deputy Chairman of the Union of Writers of Belarus, poet Elena Stelmakh, artist, member of the International Public Association "Eurasian Art Community" Liliana Kovkhuto spoke at the closing ceremony of the exhibition "The most important giant" .

On May 5, the 205th anniversary of the birth of Stanislaw Moniuszko (1819–1872), the world-famous composer and conductor, our countryman, who made a significant contribution to the formation of Belarusian musical culture, is celebrated. By this date, the National Library of Belarus has updated the already existing virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region", created five years ago, and now replenished with new unique materials.

A new project of the National Library of Belarus is dedicated to the Great Patriotic War – "Reading newspaper lines with your heart. On the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders."
Every week from January to August 2024, the portal of the National Library publishes materials from newspapers of Soviet Belarus in 1944, reflecting the chronicle of news and events of that time.
