On 22 May, a grand opening of an exhibition "The world through the eyes of children" dedicated to the International Children's Day was held in the mobile gallery (3rd floor).

The exhibition includes about 25 works made by pupils of the art studio

Vasilyok which has been working in the Minsk Regional State Special Secondary Boarding School for Hearing-Impaired Children for over 18 years.

"We have gathered here today for a very pleasant occasion – to open for ourselves once again the creativity of children from the art studio Vasilyok. Works made by studio pupils have already know in different countries of the world," said during the event Head of Special Education of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus Antonina Zmushko. She wished the pupils to become successful people and to have more and more exhibitions in the box of personal achievement.

Young artists of the studio participated in international exhibitions in Japan, Germany, France, Russia, and their works were exhibited in many galleries and museums in the Belarusian capital.

Classes in the art studio help children realize themselves in the creative field, feel capable and talented. It is hard for them to talk with the outside world, that’s why they choose art. Using colors they talk about their mood, natural beauty and the meaning of life.

"It has become a good tradition to meet annually in the National Library in the exhibition of art works created by pupils of the boarding school, charged with joy and kindness of these paintings," said Director of the Minsk Regional Centre of Correction and Development Training and Rehabilitation Nina Viktorovskaya.

The main idea of the exhibition is to remind adults that children are in need of support and care. The public must help children with disabilities and create an environment in which they can feel like full-fledged personalities and successfully realize their creative potential to the benefit of all.

The exhibition will run until 20 August, 2014.
