The exhibition “My heart bleeds not for me”, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Hienadz Buraukin (1936–2014), has been opened in the Belarusian literature reading room (205) from August 22 till September 30.
The organic connection with the native land and history, love to people, thoughts about life, high spirituality, publicistics, responsibility for words are typical of the work of the Belarusian poet, translator, public figure, laureate of the Lenin komsomol of Belarus award (1972), the State Y. Kupala award (1980) Hienadz Buraukin. Many poems, set to music by composers E. Hank, I. Luchenok, V. Rainchik, became popular songs (Калыханка, Матылі, Малітва, Конь незацугляны, Зачарованая мая, Завіруха, Я не ганю землі чужыя).
The section, which presents the literary heritage of the writer, opens the exhibition. It includes selected works in two volumes (1986), books Выбранае, 1955–1995 (1998) and Выбраныя творы (2009); his first collection of works Майская просінь (1960), collections З любоўю і нянавісцю зямною (1963), Дыханне (1966), Жніво (1971), Варта вернасці (1978), Пяшчота (1985), Узмах крыла (1995), where the author reveals the biography of the generation, that survived war sufferings, restored the destroyed, fought for justice, loved; documentary novel Тры старонкі з легенды (1971), children’s book Тры казкі пра Зая (1974) and Сінія арэлі (1987). Чытаю тайнапіс вачэй… (2001), Жураўліная пара (2004), Лісты да запатрабавання (2010), Нагаварыцца з зоркамі (2014) are new Buraukin’s books, written in the 21 century.
A separate section is dedicated to translations, made by the poet from Russian, Ukrainian, Bulgarian, Lithuanian, Spanish, French, Georgian, etc. It’s possible to get acquainted with his works’ translations into different languages, and with his compilatory and editing work.
The last section introduces to visitors the life and work of the poet, it includes the literary and critic publications, encyclopedias and periodicals.
