Opening of the exhibition History of Belarus: the formation of national state system

On December 18, 2008, in the National Library of Belarus took place the opening of the book and documentary exhibition “History of Belarus: the formation of national state system” organized in cooperation with National Archive of the Republic of Belarus and timed to the 90th anniversary of the establishment of Belarusian Soviet Socialistic Republic (BSSR).




At the Gallery-Exhibition Section of the National Library of Belarus are displayed about 300 materials: books, encyclopedias, works, scientific papers, collected works and materials, textbooks, monographs, and other materials issued in the given time and revealing the Republic’s life. National Archive of the Republic of Belarus exhibits 100 original documents: documents of Belarusian National Committee, Charters of Belarusian People’s Republic, warrants of delegates of the 6th Northwest conference RKP (b) in Smolensk, journals of the Central Bureau of communist Party of Bolsheviks of Belarus, and manuscripts and the first official issues of the BSSR establishment Manifesto.

On May 5, the 205th anniversary of the birth of Stanislaw Moniuszko (1819–1872), the world-famous composer and conductor, our countryman, who made a significant contribution to the formation of Belarusian musical culture, is celebrated. By this date, the National Library of Belarus has updated the already existing virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region", created five years ago, and now replenished with new unique materials.

A new project of the National Library of Belarus is dedicated to the Great Patriotic War – "Reading newspaper lines with your heart. On the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders."
Every week from January to August 2024, the portal of the National Library publishes materials from newspapers of Soviet Belarus in 1944, reflecting the chronicle of news and events of that time.
