The jubilee book exhibition "Outstanding researcher of history", dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the Belarusian historian Emmanuel Grigoryevich Ioffe, takes place from March 19 to April 23 in the Belarusian Literature reading room (room 205).

The name of the Belarusian scientist, historian, political scientist, sociologist, cultural critic and teacher is well known in Belarus and abroad. His works have become not only a source of valuable information for researchers, but also helped to draw public attention to important events and figures of our country. Emmanuel Rigorovich's research on the history of the Great Patriotic War has shed light on little-known aspects of this period. Thanks to his active work and scientific research, E. R. Ioffe has made a significant contribution to the preservation and transmission of historical heritage, helping future generations to better understand and appreciate the complex historical processes that have shaped modern Belarus.

Emmanuel Ioffe is the author of numerous scientific papers, books and brochures, which are presented in the first section of the exhibition. The most significant works are: "Soviet military leaders on the Belarusian land", "From the history of the Belarusian village", "Pages of the history of the Jews of Belarus", "According to reliable sources", "From Myasnikov to Malofeev: who led the BSSR", "The Belarusian headquarters of the partisan movement", "When and why did Hitler and other top ranks of the Nazi party come to the Soviet Union?", "From generation to generation", etc.

The second section of the exhibition will introduce library visitors to a large number of works of the scientist in collective publications and journals. The readers are presented with documents where E. Ioffe acts as a compiler and editor. Among them: "Belarus in the context of German historiography of the history of the Second World War", "Jews. Through the pages of history", "The Jews of Germany: History and Modernity", etc.

The encyclopedic publications and literary-critical publications placed in the last part of the exhibition tell in more detail about the life and work of E. G. Ioffe. Here is a monograph by M. Strelts and S. Ptichkina "E. G. Ioffe: portrait of a scientist and teacher", which reveals the key milestones of the scientist's life path, shows all his long-term scientific and pedagogical activities.

The exposition includes more than 230 works.
