From December, 4th, to January 20th, a thematic book exhibition "The New Year Serpentine" runs in the National Library of Belarus (2nd floor, circular corridor).

Christmas and the New Year are our favorite holidays, the time for a joyful expectation of miracles, when the world becomes a little better. All bad things have forgotten, and people begin to believe in a fairy tale.

A bright and colorful book exposition tells about the history of the holidays, Christmas and the New Year traditions, folk sayings and beliefs.

Christmas is one of the main Christian holidays devoted to the birth of Jesus Christ.

The central part of the exposition is modern editions about Christmas celebrations in Belarus, Russia, France, Germany, Canada and other countries.

Children’s fiction about Christmas and the New Year are also on display.

Having visited the exhibition you will learn how to decorate your apartment, to present original gifts to your friends and family, and to make your own masks, souvenirs and Christmas decorations. Advice of professional decorators and scenario writers will help you to lay the table and organize an unforgettable holiday, full of fun and surprises.
