From December 17, 2007 to December 31, 2007, in e Belarusian Literature Reading Room (room 205) is open a book exhibition “The whole World for Children” dedicated to dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Margarita Efimovoa, the Belarusian literary critic, candidate of philology, and pedagogue.


Margarita Efimovoa adores Belarusian language and Belarusian literature and she aspires to cultivate this love of Belarusian written language in the young generation.
The exhibition presents over 50 publications, including author’s abstracts of a dissertation dedicated to Yanka Mavr, the Belarusian writer, and collected articles compiled by Margarita Efimovoa.


Margarita Efimovoa is the author of scientific and methodological works dedicated to Belarusian writers and the history of Belarusian literature, and co-author of children literature textbooks.

At the exhibition is displayed a reading-book “Belarusin children literature” (1996, 2003) compiled by Margarita Efimovoa and her daughter Victoria Leshuk. The publication includes works by little-known Belarusian authors.

Margarita Efimovoa is the author of numerous forewords, reviews, and articles on children literature, literature teaching methodology, and recitation.

A particular section of the exhibition presents publications by different authors dedicated to Margarita Efimovoa’s life and career.

On May 5, the 205th anniversary of the birth of Stanislaw Moniuszko (1819–1872), the world-famous composer and conductor, our countryman, who made a significant contribution to the formation of Belarusian musical culture, is celebrated. By this date, the National Library of Belarus has updated the already existing virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region", created five years ago, and now replenished with new unique materials.

A new project of the National Library of Belarus is dedicated to the Great Patriotic War – "Reading newspaper lines with your heart. On the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders."
Every week from January to August 2024, the portal of the National Library publishes materials from newspapers of Soviet Belarus in 1944, reflecting the chronicle of news and events of that time.
