From December 2 to January 3, the book exhibition “We Are Linked With the Thread of Time: Museums of Belarus” runs in the Belarusian literature reading room No. 205.


Anyone who is interested in the history and culture of their country, lovers of travel, ethnographers, historians, cultural workers, guides, young adults and teachers visiting together new places during the school holidays, are invited to the exhibition which acquaints with the main treasures of our country – the museums of the Republic Belarus. The offered display presents large and small museums, both well-known and little-known; those that exist for a long time and which exposures have been significantly updated; those that have opened recently; private and public museums and their branches.

The exposition contains materials about museums of the history and culture of Belarus, local history and literature, natural environment and open-air museums, museums of military history and military glory, art museums and art galleries, museums of universities and schools and others.

The actual reference displays the history of the creation of each institution, its collections and exhibitions, offers further reading for reference, provides information on the development of the museum business in Belarus, etc.

Books and magazine articles about unusual and little-known museums such as the toy museum, the children’s museum, the photography museum, the museums of bread, boulders, the history of the tram and the history of the police, the museums The House of Insects and Anti-Bacchus, the Pharmacy-Museum and many other will be interesting to visitors.

The exhibition is richly illustrated with photos and includes over 250 documents.

The exhibition "Glory to the Winners!" is open for Victory Day (May 9) and the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders.
