From 7 February to 23 March, an exhibition "Winged songs" dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Russian composer Yevgeny Krylatov runs in the Music and Audio Material Reading Room (room 305).


For his career the People’s artist of Russia, laureate of the State Prize of the USSR (1982) Yevgeny Krylatov created a large number of works in various genres: ballets, works for choir, symphony and variety orchestras, music for dramatic plays, radio and television. He had been one of the most popular composers of the national cinema for many years. All his songs, at first, appeared on television and only then became pop music. They are full of vitality and optimism, they charm with their gentleness, sincerity and lyricism. He wrote the music for over 140 films – documentaries, feature and animated.

Music to animated films "The Clever" (with a famous song "The Bear’s Lullaby ", 1965) and "Santa Claus and Summer" (1969) is the first works since which his fame as a composer has begun. Then, there was a popular song "Songs of the Sword" sung by A. Mironov in a movie "Property of the Republic" (1971), the same success had his next works "A Forest Deer" from the movie "Oh, this Nastya" (1971), "An Alder Catkin" ("It’s all about it", 1978),"Winged swing" ("The Adventures of Electronika", 1979),"Three White Horses" ("Magicians", 1982),"Beautiful Far"("Guest from the Future", 1984). The composer’s music is also in other films: "And then I said – no..." (1973), "I am Looking for a Person" (1973), " A Woodpecker Don’t Have a Headache" (1974), "Confusion of Feelings" (1977), "Don’t leave people whom you love" (1979),"Do not leave..." (1989), "The First Bridge" (1995),"Children of Monday" (1997), the animated trilogy "Prostokvashino"and many others.

The exhibition presents the printed music and audio documents that reveal the composer’s creativity. There are a lot of discs with popular songs from the many movies performed by famous singers.

The exhibition also contains reference materials, which have biographical information about the composer, and publications from periodicals about the creative path of the hero of the day.

Visitors of the exhibition have the opportunity to listen to songs which are represented at the exhibition.
