The first edition of the international classification system Universal Decimal Classification (UDC) in the Belarusian language appears in print.

The first edition of UDC in the Belarusian language includes over 10 000 main and auxiliary tables and the alphabetical index.

Translation into the modern Belarusian language is made with the use of the UDC Abridged Edition released by the UDC Consortium.

The publication will be in demand in libraries, bookselling organizations and information centers to organize documents and document collections including those on local history, and also for information retrieval. It can also be used as a teacher edition at seminars, workshops, courses and lectures within the framework of professional training in the above-mentioned institutions.

On May 5, the 205th anniversary of the birth of Stanislaw Moniuszko (1819–1872), the world-famous composer and conductor, our countryman, who made a significant contribution to the formation of Belarusian musical culture, is celebrated. By this date, the National Library of Belarus has updated the already existing virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region", created five years ago, and now replenished with new unique materials.

A new project of the National Library of Belarus is dedicated to the Great Patriotic War – "Reading newspaper lines with your heart. On the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders."
Every week from January to August 2024, the portal of the National Library publishes materials from newspapers of Soviet Belarus in 1944, reflecting the chronicle of news and events of that time.
