The achievements in the national book industry in 2018 were solemnly presented in the library, on December 20. The event was part of the Year of Native Land in Belarus.

The organizers are the Ministry of Information of the Republic of Belarus and the National Library of Belarus.

“Where does the Motherland begin? With the pictures in your schoolbook... ", as a penetrating Mark Bernes’ song says in an old Soviet film. For most people, the first real acquaintance with the history of their native land begins on the pages of printed publications. It is symbolic that the solemn presentation at the end of the year was held here, in the main “book temple” of the country.

The event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Information of the Republic of Belarus, Igor Buzovsky, first deputy director of the National Library of Belarus, Elena Dolgopolova, and also representatives of institutions of science, culture and education, public associations, publishing and printing industries, book trade and the media.

During the presentation, representatives of the Ministry of Information awarded the National Library of Belarus a diploma for the active participation in the implementation of joint social projects.

The event featured the performances of the Minsk String Quartet of the Belarusian State Philharmonic Society, the Belarusian State Academic Honored Choreographic Ensemble "Khoroshki" and the vocal ensemble "Pure Voice".

An exhibition of the best publishing projects of 2018 and books on the Native Land from the collections of the National Library of Belarus was organized in the atrium, on the 2nd floor.

All materials are provided by the Public Relations Department.
