Alexey Shved, Consul General of the Republic of Belarus to Istanbul met with Mahmut Ak, Rector of Istanbul University, and Sonay Tahmaz Kaleci, director of the University Library, on December 14.
The Belarusian diplomat noted that the meeting is taking place during the centennial year of Belarus' National Library, with which the oldest Turkish university has been collaborating for exactly three years. He thanked the Rector of Istanbul University for the congratulatory message and a gift consisting of several valuable publications related to the era of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent.
The parties talked on where they wanted their cooperation to go in 2023.
Alexey Shved donated a collection of 10 gift editions about the Republic of Belarus, chosen by the National Library of Belarus, to Istanbul University in a sombre event.
