On April 3, 2024, the National Library of Belarus hosted a meeting of the Republican Interdepartmental Coordinating Council for Patriotic Education of the population of the Republic of Belarus on the topic "Formation of respect for state symbols".
The participants of the event discussed the organizational and legal support for the use of state symbols of the Republic of Belarus, the formation of respect for state symbols as an element of civil and patriotic education of citizens, the expansion of the practice of using state symbols in the patriotic education of the population.
The meeting was attended by representatives of ministries, departments, public associations, and leading educational institutions of the Republic of Belarus.
Within the framework of the event, there was a book exhibition-viewing "Symbols of the Belarusian statehood", which presents documents from the collection of the National Library of Belarus devoted to the history of the formation and change of the state symbols of the Republic of Belarus – the flag, coat of arms and anthem.
The exhibition presents about 40 documents, including official, scientific, popular science, industrial and practical, mass–political books and encyclopedias published between 1995 and 2024.
