Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov visited the National Library of Belarus on 8 December as part of a visit by an official delegation of the Republic of Bashkortostan to Belarus.

The honoured guest was introduced to the almost 100-year history of the main library in the country, its architectural features and technical capabilities; he learned about information resources and socio-cultural activities of the Library, and was given a tour of the building and the Book Museum.

At the end of the meeting, the Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan received a gift as a memento of his visit to the National Library of Belarus.

On May 5, the 205th anniversary of the birth of Stanislaw Moniuszko (1819–1872), the world-famous composer and conductor, our countryman, who made a significant contribution to the formation of Belarusian musical culture, is celebrated. By this date, the National Library of Belarus has updated the already existing virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region", created five years ago, and now replenished with new unique materials.

A new project of the National Library of Belarus is dedicated to the Great Patriotic War – "Reading newspaper lines with your heart. On the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders."
Every week from January to August 2024, the portal of the National Library publishes materials from newspapers of Soviet Belarus in 1944, reflecting the chronicle of news and events of that time.
