On December 6, 2006, in National Library of Belarus the International scientific and practical conference “Mission of a library in an intellectual society formation” finished its work. The event was timed to the opening of the new building of the Library.
A presentation of the new building of the Library, experience exchange in the field of library activities, examining of the development of libraries and extension of international professional cooperation took place at the event. The conference was organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus, National Library of Belarus, and Belarusian Library Association. Representatives of libraries of Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Germany, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan participated in the conference.
