On December 12th, the presentation of Tatiana Orlova’s book “Theatrical Criticism of the Modern Age” was held in the National Library of Belarus.
“Theatrical Criticism of the Modern Age” is an original manual for those who want to learn how to write about the theater. A living history of Belarusian theatrical culture is represented by portraits of authors and directors, theatrical reviews, essays and scientific articles. The book is not only a manual for students; it will be a fascinating reading for all who are interested in the cinema and the theater.
Tatiana Orlova is Doctor of Philology, Professor of the Institute of Journalism of the Belarusian State University (BSU). She was born in 1935 in Moscow; graduated from the BSU journalism sector; worked at the newspaper Znamja Younosti and the Belarusian Soviet Encyclopedia. After post-graduate courses in the Institute of fine art, ethnography and folklore of the BSSR Academy of Sciences since 1972 she has worked at the BSU faculty of journalism. Tatiana Orlova is a winner of the Literary Prize named after Kondrat Krapiva, author of 14 books including “Theatrical Journalism”, “Teacher D.A. Orlov” and others.
At the event spoke: editor-in-chief of the journal Mastatstva Lyudmila Gromyko, honored artist of the Republic of Belarus Leonid Ulashchenko, honored artist, Professor, dean of the theatrical faculty of the Academy of Arts Vladimir Mishchanuk, honored artist of the Republic of Belarus Tatiana Markhel and the author Tatiana Orlova.
