On January 23, 2009, in the Round hall of National Library of Belarus President of the Reublic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko awarded State Prizes.
Prizes were awarded to scientists from Russia, Ukraine and China for the development of cooperation with Belarusian scientific institutions.
Zhores Alferov, the Nobel Prize laureate, vice-president of Russian Academy of Sciences; Valentine Parmon, the director of Russian Academy of Sciences Siberian Department Institute of Catalysis; Boris Paton, the president of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine; Lee Haijtsijan, the president of Academy of Science of Province Shandong, and other scientists received awards.
