On June 9th, the National Library of Belarus hosted a meeting of jury of the competition “The library as a center of spiritual and moral education”.
Members of the jury: Bishop of Borisov and Marjina Gorka Veniamin (chairman of the jury), director of the National Library of Belarus (NLB) R.S. Motulsky (deputy chairman of the jury), head of section of the NLB Biliology department О.А. Rynkevich (secretary of the jury), principal officer of the secondary education administration of the Ministry of Education of Belarus I.V. Bulavkina, principal officer of the culture and folk art administration of the Ministry of Culture of Belarus S.V. Botyan, secretary of the Editorial board of the Belarusian Orthodox Church Т.А. Samoylyuk, head of the Central Library of the Belarusian Exarchate S.F. Vinogradova and member of the working group for the development of library networks at the Editorial board of the Belarusian Orthodox Church Т.А. Kvasova.
During the meeting the jury examined competitive works are selected the best in the following nominations:
- ”The family – the legatee of moral and spiritual values”;
- ”Orthodox patriotic education”;
- ”Spiritual and moral education of children and young adults”;
- ”The history of Orthodoxy in Belarus”.
Members of the jury made suggestions on the further perfection of competition projects estimation criteria, competitive works selection and preparation of a solemn award ceremony.
After signing the record of the jury and its ratification by Metropolitan of Minsk and Zaslavl Pavel, the Patriarchal Exarch of Belarus, info on the contest winners will be presented on the official site of the Belarusian Orthodox Church, the NLB portal and the site Orthodox Libraries of Belarus.
The winners award ceremony of the contest ”The library as a center of spiritual and moral education” will be held at the National Library of Belarus within the bound of the international congress ”The library as a cultural phenomemnon” on October 21–23, 2015.
