On June 16th, the opening of a photo exhibition “The National Library of Belarus in Moscow” and the presentation of a unique facsimile edition The Book Heritage of Francysk Skaryna will take place in Moscow.


The photo exhibition “The National Library of Belarus” will present the bests and even unusual images of “the Knowledge Diamond” in 25 photos. Six known Belarusian photographers are creators of this collections: Anatoly Drybas, Alexander Zhernosek, Loliy Makedonsky, Sergey Plytkevich, Victor Suglob and Valery Harchenko. This exhibition has been on display in 14th European countries.

The facsimile copies of all 25 books printed by Francysk Skaryna in Prague (1517–1519) and Vilna (1522–1525) are the unique joint project of the National Library of Belarus and Belvneshekonombank which will be finished in 2017.

The five first recreated volumes from the complete set of works by the celebrated Belarusian who had begun book publishing in East Europe will be presented in Russia. The facsimile Book Heritage of Francysk Skaryna keeps all the features, fonts and engravings of the 500-year old edition.

The photo exhibition and the presentation will be held at the new Business and Culture Center of the Embassy of Belarus to Russia.

The jubilee book exhibition "The Song has Wings", dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the birth of the Belarusian poet Adam Gerasimovich Rusak (1904–1987), takes place from May 22 to June 13 in the Belarusian Literature reading room (room 205).

On May 16, participants of the National Library of Belarus project "On the wave of time throughout life" visited the Uzden Central District Library named after Pavlyuk Trus, where they took part in the literary and musical festival "On the paths of bright spring.." dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the birth of the poet, member of the association "Maladnyak", native of Uzden region Pavlyuk Trus (1904-1929).
