The National Library annually accepts students for internships for the purpose of training in the field of culture, under the Internship Agreement between the National Library of Belarus and the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts. 

The third-year students of the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts in the specialty Library and Information Activities passed through the Work Experience Internship from November 11 to December 20.

The students got acquainted with the work of 15 departments and the sectors of the departments during the internship. Theoretical knowledge acquired by students over three years of study at the university is reflected in practices.

Future specialists got acquainted with the processes of collections compilation, bibliographic processing and indexing of documents, maintaining a database of authoritative records, book storage, storage of special collections, restoration and conservation of library documents, corporate interaction, reference and information services, library services, specialized collections and official documents services, users record and informing. The students also studied the work of the Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery Department, and the Social and Cultural Center.

Despite the short period, the internship managers and the staff of the National Library made every effort to fully convey their experience. The acquired knowledge and skills will contribute to the training of future highly qualified specialists.

On May 5, the 205th anniversary of the birth of Stanislaw Moniuszko (1819–1872), the world-famous composer and conductor, our countryman, who made a significant contribution to the formation of Belarusian musical culture, is celebrated. By this date, the National Library of Belarus has updated the already existing virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region", created five years ago, and now replenished with new unique materials.

A new project of the National Library of Belarus is dedicated to the Great Patriotic War – "Reading newspaper lines with your heart. On the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders."
Every week from January to August 2024, the portal of the National Library publishes materials from newspapers of Soviet Belarus in 1944, reflecting the chronicle of news and events of that time.
