On November 20th, 2009, in National Library of Belarus took place the seminar-practicum “Use of the format BELMARC the in description of incunabula and rare editions”.
The seminar was organized by National Library of Belarus, the Belarusian Library Association and the Committee on book monuments conservation.
Within the framework of the seminar a number of questions were discussed: creation of bibliographic records of incunabula in the format BELMARC, specificity of description of Cyrillic editions in the format BELMARC, use of unified titles at description of incunabula, etc.
Experts of Belarusian libraries, high schools and museums and workers of National Library of Belarus engaged to research, scientific processing, development of incunabula collections and development and maintenance of the format BELMARC participated in the seminar.
