On May 16, the XVII International Conference "Central Asia – 2024: Internet and Information and Library Resources in science, education, Culture and business" began its work in the city of Jizzakh (Republic of Uzbekistan).
The National Library of Belarus was presented at the conference by Director General Vadzim Hihin, who addressed the conference participants with a welcoming speech as part of the opening ceremony.
Also at the plenary session, Vadzim Hihin presented a report on modern information and communication technologies in the work of libraries. The meeting was also attended by Chairman of the Council of the Belarusian Library Association, Director of the Fundamental Library of the Belarusian State University Vladimir Kulazhenko.
In total, the conference is attended by more than 300 delegates from CIS countries and far abroad, including library directors, heads and specialists of information resource and information library centers, specialists from archives, museums, scientists, teachers of educational institutions, public figures, representatives of ministries and departments.
The conference was organized by: the Information and Mass Communications Agency under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan; the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS member States; the Alisher Navoi National Library of Uzbekistan; the Uzarchiv Agency; the Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad Al-Khorazmi; the State Institute of Arts and Culture of Uzbekistan.
