On February 29, the Labyrinth Gallery hosted an interactive lecture-concert from the cycle "The musical heritage of Belarus in the space of modern culture".

At interactive lectures and concerts, you can hear the music of Belarusian composers performed by the musical chapel of the Center for Research of Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus..

The musical chapel of the Center for Research of Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus once again pleased the audience with a wonderful concert program of works by domestic composers. This time, the focus was on the theme of love for the Motherland and its embodiment in Belarusian music. The participants of the event were able to join the performance of choral works, to hear little-known samples of the national musical heritage in the transcription of modern composers L. Simakovich, E. Atrashkevich and others.

The lecture-concert took place in a theatrical form, taking us to different periods of Russian history. The event opened with a costumed dance performance to the sounds of M.K. Oginsky's polonaise. Fragments of ballroom dancing were also shown to the audience: chimes and waltzes.

An amazing atmosphere of staying at the ball was created by a dance master class with the participation of the audience. The idea to connect them to learning and performing an ancient dance to the sounds of V. Soltan's waltz from the opera “The Wild Hunt of King Stach" turned out to be incredibly grateful. This caused a storm of positive emotions and a good mood.

The program was conducted by the artistic director of the Musical Chapel Galina Tsmyg.

We are waiting for everyone at the next “Belaya Golubonka” (“The White Dove”) concert, where the national musical heritage will be revealed through the genre of choral theatre.
The meeting will take place on March 28, 2024 at 6.30 pm.

An exhibition of literature from the collections of the National Library of Belarus has been prepared on this topic, presented in the musical and audiovisual documents reading room (room 305).

Admission is by the library ticket or ticket of the library's social and cultural center.

Phone for inquiries: (+37517) 293 27 52.

The material was provided by the Service Department of Specialized Funds.
