The exhibition displayed children’s books published in the XVII–XX centuries.
Belarusian and Russian incunabula such as «Slavonic Language Primer » (Vilnius, 1767), «Primer» (Suprasl, 1781) were exhibited. Russian publications – originals of primers by V. Burtsov (Moscow, 1634) and F. Polikarpov (Moscow, 1701), grammar book by М.Smotrytsky (Moscow, 1648), and other publications were displayed at the exhibition.
There were publications for children in Belarusian language issued in the early ХХ century. The Belarusian publishing house in St.-Petersburg had edited three children’s textbooks (in 1906 and 1909).
Miniature children’s books and originally designed children’s books caught visitors’ attention.
