Cookie Processing Policy
The Cookie Processing Policy has been developed on the basis of the requirements of the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, the Law of the Republic of Belarus dated 05/07/2021 No. 99-Z "On Personal Data Protection" and other regulatory legal acts of the Republic of Belarus in the field of personal data protection. The policy was created to comply with the legislation of the Republic of Belarus in the field of personal data protection.
1. Cookies are a text file saved in the browser of the computer (mobile device) of the user of the official Internet portal of the National Library of Belarus and all its subdomains when the user visits the Internet portal to reflect the actions performed by him. This file allows you not to re-enter or select the same parameters when visiting the Internet portal again, for example, to select a language version.
The purpose of cookie processing is to ensure the convenience of users of the Internet portal and improve the quality of its functioning.
We do not transfer cookies to third parties and do not use them to identify personal data subjects.
2. According to the type of storage, cookies can be divided into two categories:
Session cookies are stored in the user's browser only for the duration of the session, that is, until the user closes the browser or logs out. These cookies are used to store information about the user's status and to ensure the security of the session.
Persistent cookies are stored for a long time in the user's browser and can be used to store information that will be available on the next visit to the Internet portal. Such cookies may contain information about the user's preferences, for example, the interface language, authorization data, as well as provide the ability to track user behavior on the Internet.
3. The following types of cookies are processed on the NLB Internet portal:
Technical (strictly necessary) cookies are used by the Internet portal to log in to the system. The Internet portal will not work without them. This type of cookie does not collect any personal information about users and cannot be disabled. Their shelf life is 1 year. The validity period of session technical cookies is limited to the duration of one session, that is, until the user closes the browser or logs out.
Functional cookies allow you to provide an individual experience of using the Internet portal and are installed in response to the actions of the personal data subject. Their shelf life is 1 year. The validity period of session functional cookies is limited to the duration of one session.
If functional cookies are disabled, pages may not be displayed correctly and other problems may arise.
Statistical cookies allow you to store the history of visits to the pages of the Internet portal in order to improve the quality of its functioning in order to identify the most and least popular pages. Their shelf life ranges from 30 minutes to 2 years.
Disabling statistical cookies does not allow you to determine the preferences of users of the Internet portal, including the most and least popular pages, and take measures to improve the operation of the Internet portal based on user preferences.
The National Library uses the analytical tools Google Analytics and Yandex. Metrica, which are used to provide statistical indicators of the use of the Internet portal without identifying users.
The analytical cookies generated by Google Analytics are transmitted to Google Corporation and processed in accordance with their Privacy Policy posted at the link https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=ru.
Analytical cookies generated by Yandex.Metrica are transmitted to Yandex and processed in accordance with their Privacy Policy posted at the link https://yandex.by/legal/confidential/.
4. In addition to the cookie settings on the NLB Internet portal, personal data subjects can accept or reject the collection of all or some cookies in their browser settings.
At the same time, some browsers allow you to visit the Internet portal in "incognito" mode in order to limit the amount of information stored on your computer and automatically delete session cookies. In addition, the personal data subject can delete previously stored cookies by selecting the appropriate option in the browser history.
