Special Collections Safekeeping Department

General

Special collections safekeeping department was arranged on January 1st, 2017 after the department for safekeeping of magazines and periodicals and the department for safekeeping of special collections have been united.

Location of the department: 6th, 7th, 9th, 13th, 14th, and 16th floors of a high-altitude vault.

Collections of the department

Activity

The department is engaged in continuous safekeeping and a wide utility of newspapers, magazines, periodicals, fine arts documents, printed music, audio visual and electronic documents in the library and information service.

Main functions of the department:

  • Scientifically grounded arrangements and collections preservation
  • Continuous works on the integrity of the collection during its storing and utility
  • Satisfying complete and prompt information requests of the users
  • Studying the effectiveness of using the collections
  • Implementing machine technologies to manufacturing processes
  • Scientific and educational activity related to the functions of the department
