Vladimir Chernyshov’s personal art exhibition “The bells” has opened in the library on May 4th.

Painter and graphic artist Vladimir Chernyshov graduated from the Penza Art College named after K. Savitsky and the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography. For about 30 years he worked as an art director at the film studio "Belarusfilm", taught at the Belarusian State Academy of Arts and the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts. He also was the main artist of the Academic Russian Drama Theater named after M. Gorky in Minsk.

The theatrical and cinema life has always come in touch with the artist’s work. It is no accident that among his paintings there are so many portraits of famous cultural figures, such as Sergei Rachmaninov, Rostislav Yankovsky, Yuri Ivanov, Sergei Katier, Fedor Shalyapin etc. Inspired by the life and work of these legendary people, Vladimir Chernyshov created the "bell" paintings that call for the viewer to stop, peer and listen...to what they are calling about.

The exhibition opening was attended by the first deputy director of the National Library of Belarus Elena Dolgopolova, the chairman of the Belarusian Union of Artists Ryhor Sytnitsa, the first deputy chairman of the Belarusian Union of Musicians and vice-president of the International Union of Musicians Natalya Vitchenko, the art director of the Belarusian Academic Musical Theater Adam Murzich, and the chair of the artistic union “Verasen” Nina Marchenko.

The artist’s paintings are on display in the gallery “Rakurs” (2nd floor) till 15 July, 2017.

The exhibition ending date may be changed.
