On 29 November, a grand opening of Aleksandr Losminsky’s photo exhibition “Under the sky of Grodno Region” took place in the art gallery “Panorama”.


There are about 50 photos of splendid bird’s eye view landscapes at the exhibition of Aleksandr Losminsky, a photographer, journalist and the head of people’s photo club “Grodno”.

For a long time the artist has the idea to look at the ground through the eyes of birds. During several years he has been searching for any opportunity to rise in the sky above Grodno Region, and today with the experience of more than 20 flights the author can be proud of his "air" archive from which a lot of exhibitions can be done. After he has flown round the most interesting corners of Grodno Region and captured on a camera the unique landscapes of his native land, Losminsky has opened to the audience all its extraordinary beauty and harmony.

Maria Biryukova and Alexandr Antonenko, deputies of House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, deputy chief of cultural administration in Executive Committee of Grodno Sergei Matsievich, photo artist Yuri Ivanov, director of the publishing house “Belarus” Sergei Peshin, head of gallery and exhibition division Fyodor Yastreb and author of the exhibition “Under the sky of Grodno Region” Aleksandr Losminsky participated at the event.

The presentation of Aleksandr Losminsky’s photo album “The Bird’s Eye View of Grodno Region” carried out within the framework of the event. The exhibition will last till 10 January, 2012.

Entrance is paid since 30 November. It costs as much as a visit to the Observation Platform of the National Library of Belarus.

On May 5, the 205th anniversary of the birth of Stanislaw Moniuszko (1819–1872), the world-famous composer and conductor, our countryman, who made a significant contribution to the formation of Belarusian musical culture, is celebrated. By this date, the National Library of Belarus has updated the already existing virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region", created five years ago, and now replenished with new unique materials.
