On 5 November 5, within the framework of the international science conference “The Grand Duchy of Lithuania: Policy, Economy and Culture”, the exhibition “At the Crossroads…: Belarus in Old Maps and Artifacts of the ХV–XVIII Centuries” opened in the National Library.
Attendees and guests of the conference were welcomed by Deputy Director for Research Work and Publishing Activity of the National Library of Belarus Aliaksandr Suša, Director of the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Viačaslaǔ Danilovič, and also artist, designer, restorer and collector Ihar Surmačeǔski.
The exhibition presents early-printed books, European maps and atlases of the ХV–XVIII centuries, and also Russian cartographic publications of the XVIII century from the stocks of the National Library of Belarus, the Institute of History and the private collection of Ihar Surmačeǔski.
The exhibition runs in the Book Museum (3rd floor, room 348) until 30 November, 2015.
