The exhibition “Belarus begins in Polesye” is on show in the Belarusian Literature Reading Room (room 205) From November 2 to December 31. The exhibition dedicated to coincide with the 60th anniversary of the Belarusian writer Ales Navarych.

Ales Navarych (directed by Alexander Trushko) is one of the brightest representatives of the Belarusian literature of the late XX early XXI centuries. The artistic worldview of Navarych is based on his native Western Polesie with its traditions and customs, respectable inhabitants and original nature. In his first prose collection "Rabkovskaya Noch", the writer admires the uniqueness of his native land, defends the idea of the wisdom of nature, its mysterious power. The peculiarity of the author's stories is laconic, fascinating, philosophical understanding of human destinies.

The reader will not be left indifferent with the stories by Ales Navarych "The Night of Kisses of Independence", "The Return of Sons", "Easy Address", "Inhuman", "Shoes of Venus", "Cabbage Soup" and others. The story “I will pray to Perun, I will worship Veles ...” is based on an intriguing, confusing, in some sense even a detective story. Our visitors will be interested with the popular science publication "Animals. Encounters of Wild Life" from the series "My land".

The historical novel "The Lithuanian Wolf" about the identity and independence of Belarus. A thrilling work, imbued with the spirit of adventurism and enriched with love intrigues, beckons the reader during the uprising of 1863-1864. The author's reflections on local residents and the beauty of native landscapes are imbued with special lyricism.

The works by Ales Navarych are published in the magazines "Polymya", "Maladost", "Veresen", "Neman" and other publications presented at the exhibition.

The exposition is complemented by numerous materials about the life and work of the hero of the day.
