January 12 marks the 80th anniversary of the birth of Vladimir Mulyavin  musician, composer, founder of VIA Pesnyary. For the anniversary of the artist, an exhibition “In memory of the songwriter of Belarus” has been prepared, which is open in the Music and Audiovisual Documents Reading Room (room 305) until January 31.

Sheet music, CDs, gramophone records, books and articles on display will acquaint visitors with the life and creative path of the famous performer.

Born far beyond the borders of our country, Mulyavin was able to win the love of Belarusians and become a true people's artist. His name is associated with the discovery of new trends in Belarusian pop art. An important feature of the composer's work was the combination of vocals, instrumental music and poetry. The vocal works created by him on the poems of the poets Y. Kupala, M. Tank, P. Brovka found a response in the hearts of many people. Thanks to his musical talent, folk songs also found a second life. A lot of compositions by Vladimir Mulyavin have become widely known outside Belarus.

The talent, multiplied by the incredible ability to work and the ability to properly organize work, allowed V. Mulyavin to achieve great heights in his activities. Together with his team, he made a great contribution to ensuring that the Belarusian musical heritage took its rightful place in the history of world musical culture.
