A thematic exhibition to the Day of the Great Victory “We are grateful for the victorious May!” has been opened since April 21 till May 30 in the Library (2nd floor, circular corridor).


No matter how many springs passed since the victorious May of 1945, we will remember soldiers and generals, men and women, boys and girls, who just left school, people of different nationalities and beliefs, who protected the native land. They didn’t spare themselves, although everyone of them wanted to live till the Victory… May the eternal memory of heroes live forever!

The exhibition “We are grateful for the victorious May!” presents nearly 200 books published for the last years and telling about heroism, courage and firmness of soviet people during the Great Patriotic war. Among them there’s a winner of the Republican contest “Мастацтва кнігі” folio with 800 pages The Encyclopedia of the Victory. Belarus – Moscow by the publishing house “Belarusian Encyclopedia n.a. P. Brovki”. The edition includes general historical sketches about the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, partisan and underground movement on the territory of Belarus, and about the main stages of liberation of Belarusian land from the occupants.

A series of books Holders of the order Victory tell about great commanders, whose names are written in the history with golden letters. These books captivate with an interesting historical biographic story about commanders- victors, their successes and failures, ups and downs, careers and destinies.

Classics of war prose is presented by a series The Great Patriotic by the Moscow publishing house “Terra – Book Club”. It tells about unique destinies, unknown and little-known war events, international heroic deeds for the name of the Victory. The main sense of works is a sacred memory about those who got the right to immortality sacrificing their lives.

Published by “Мастацкая літаратура” the book We Shall Never Forget leaves no one indifferent. It’s a modern reedition of a collection of stories, which appeared in 1948 and was reedited for 12 times, with a unique contrast set of photos of happy children of peace times and war children with stories of those who saw horrible fascists’ outrages.

The present exhibition is a tribute and sincere gratefulness for great heroic deed of veterans who liberated the world from fascism.

Adam Shanyavsky and the library fund of the Nesvizh county school (the last quarter of the XVIII century)

On April 24, 2024, at the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Rumyantsev Readings-2024" in Moscow, Olga Polunchenko, chief bibliographer of the Department of reference and Information Services, presented a report "The role of Adam Shanyavsky in organizing the library fund of the Nesvizh County School (the last quarter of the XVIII century)."
