On December 18, a festive event was organized jointly by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus and the National Historical Museum of the Republic of Belarus, dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the outstanding composer Stanislaw Moniuszko.

The event was attended by members of the National Commission for UNESCO, the partners of the commission, the diplomats of the Polish Embassy in Belarus, the management of the Polish Institute in Minsk, representatives of the spheres of culture and education of our country.

Welcoming remarks were addressed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, the Chairman of the National Commission for UNESCO, Vladimir Makei, the First Deputy Minister of Culture, Natalya Karchevskaya, the Temporary Charge D'affaires of the Republic of Poland in the Republic of Belarus, Martin Wojciechowski, the Director of the National History Museum of the Republic of Belarus, Pavel Sopotko and the Deputy Director of the National Library of Belarus Alexander Susha.

After the official part of the event, the guests were able to get acquainted in more detail with the virtual project of the National Library of Belarus Stanislaw Moniuszko, Romantic Musician from Minsk Province, as well as to take souvenir products with the image of the composer.

The guests also got acquainted with the exhibition Stanislav Monyushko. Journey to the 19th Century, prepared by the branch of the National History Museum of the Republic of Belarus, the Museum of the History of Theater and Musical Culture.

A pleasant gift for those present was the performance of S. Moniuszko's works by students of the Belarusian State Academy of Music, as well as thematic lino print prepared as memorable souvenirs by the students of the Minsk State Art College named after A. Glebov.

We present the updated virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region": on the 205th anniversary of the composer's birth

On May 5, the 205th anniversary of the birth of Stanislaw Moniuszko (1819–1872), the world-famous composer and conductor, our countryman, who made a significant contribution to the formation of Belarusian musical culture, is celebrated. By this date, the National Library of Belarus has updated the already existing virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region", created five years ago, and now replenished with new unique materials.

On April 25, the National Library of Belarus hosted the opening of the exhibition "Dreams about Belarus", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders and the 85th anniversary of the birth of People's Artist of Belarus Vasily Sharangovich.
