On 24 December, the children's matinee "New Year Adventures" for children of the Library’s workers and inmates of a children's home of the Pervomaysky district in Minsk was held at the Conference Hall.


The children saw amazing adventures of New Year concert participants. Among them there were pirates from other planets who came to find the elixir of New Year mood; Ms. Bewitch who had overcome evil in herself and many other known and unknown fairytale characters.

At the end of the festive event, the inmates of the children’s home received Christmas gifts from the staff of the National Library of Belarus.

On May 5, the 205th anniversary of the birth of Stanislaw Moniuszko (1819–1872), the world-famous composer and conductor, our countryman, who made a significant contribution to the formation of Belarusian musical culture, is celebrated. By this date, the National Library of Belarus has updated the already existing virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region", created five years ago, and now replenished with new unique materials.

A new project of the National Library of Belarus is dedicated to the Great Patriotic War – "Reading newspaper lines with your heart. On the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders."
Every week from January to August 2024, the portal of the National Library publishes materials from newspapers of Soviet Belarus in 1944, reflecting the chronicle of news and events of that time.
