The Scientific and Practical Conference on the Heritage of Francysk Skaryna has officially opened at the A. Glebov State Art College of Minsk, on 19 October.
The event is provided by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus, the A. Glebov State Art College of Minsk, the National Commission for UNESCO in Belarus and the National Library of Belarus. At the opening ceremony attendees of the conference were welcomed on behalf of Yuri Bondar, the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Belarus. Also words of welcome were said by Director of the Art College Alexander Shantarovich and others.
At the plenary session spoke: Alies Susha, PhD, the conference supervisor and deputy director of the National Library of Belarus (The Book Heritage of Francysk Skaryna in the Context of the History of the Art Culture of Belarus), Tatiana Sapega, the head of section of the National Library of Belarus (Promoting the Book Heritage of Francysk Skaryna for Children and Youth Within the Framework of the Project “On a Visit to Books” of the National Library of Belarus), and Ekaterina Yershova, the teacher at the A. Glebov State Art College of Minsk (A. Glebov. The History of the Monument).
During two days, the following thematic sections will work: The Life and Work of Francysk Skaryna (curator Galina Kireeva, the head of the bibliology research department of the National Library of Belarus), The Literary Heritage of Francysk Skaryna (curator Tatiana Kornilova, the chief bibliographer of the bibliology research department of the National Library of Belarus), The Artistic Heritage of Francysk Skaryna, The 70th Anniversary of the A. Glebov State Art College of Minsk etc.
