Messages from the President of the Republic of Belarus’ address to the Belarusian people and the National Assembly were the topic of the discussion forum held on April 29 at the National Library of Belarus.

Siargej Mazowka, the head of the “Belaya Rus” organisation for the Pervomaisky district of Minsk, deputy of the Minsk city council of deputies, Eduard Kuzniatsow, deputy head of the “Belaia Rus” organisation for the Pervomaisky district of Minsk, and Vasil Maiseew, the first vice-rector for educational and scientific-methodical work of the State institute of advanced training and retraining of personnel in the field of gas supply “Gaz-Institute”, all spoke at the gathering with the library's personnel.

The meeting participants discussed the main issues raised by the President in his address to Belarusians and Parliament: protection of Belarus' sovereignty and independence, issues of global security, preservation of historical memory and generational continuity, economic growth, Belarusians' material well-being, preservation of the value of the traditional family, and young people's patriotic education and its role in the nation's future.

A solemn ceremony for staff of the National library of Belarus to join the “Belaia Rus” was held during the occasion. Uladzimir Kuzniatsow, the head for Digitization and preservation of library documents centre, Anastasija Talkachova, head for Reference and information services department, Iryna Kuketa, chief librarian of the Library science department, Regina Shtytko, leading accountant, all joined the organization. On April 24, 2024, at the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Rumyantsev Readings-2024" in Moscow, Olga Polunchenko, chief bibliographer of the Department of reference and Information Services, presented a report "The role of Adam Shanyavsky in organizing the library fund of the Nesvizh County School (the last quarter of the XVIII century)."
