The Library hosted a concert dedicated to the 210th birth anniversary of the Hungarian composer Franz Liszt on December 11.
Mr Andrej Kiranau, a young Belarusian pianist and reader of the National Library, performed piano works from different periods of the composer's work: Hungarian Rhapsody No. 17, "Lyon" and "Vallée d'Obermann" from the cycle "Album d'un Voyageur", elegies, "Ave Maria", "Sancta Dorothea", etc.
The emotional, colourful performance of the technically challenging pieces resonated with the audience. After the concert, visitors had a chance to chat, share their impressions and thank the pianist.
The exhibition prepared by the specialists of the Music and Audiovisual Documents Reading Room, featuring sheet music and literature on the life and work of Franz Liszt, was of great interest among the audience.
