The II Silk Road International Cultural Forum was held in Moscow (the Russian Federation) on September 14-15.


The event was organized by China nationality Cultural Foundation, China Silk Road Foundation, Kazakhstan People Spiritual Cultural Development Foundation, and the Intergovernmental Foundation for Educational, Scientific and Cultural Cooperation of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Public Diplomacy Fund named after A. Gorchakov, with the support of the corporation "Sinao" (China).

More than 300 prominent scientists, cultural workers, politicians, businessmen and media representatives from countries of the Silk Road region, as well as representatives of the CIS Executive Committee, Shanghai Cooperation Organization, UNESCO and other international organizations attended the Forum. Belarus was represented by a delegation headed by the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Belarus Barys Sviatloǔ.

The participants of the Forum discussed the development of partnerships, joint projects in the field of cultural cooperation during the free discussion and trustworthy and friendly dialogue.

The Director of the National Library of Belarus Raman Matul’ski took part and made a presentation "Cooperation of libraries of the Eurasian region as part of a single information space" during the meeting of the section "The partnership between libraries: libraries cooperation of the Eurasian region and the sharing of modern information technologies". The representatives of libraries of Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Russia, India and Pakistan participated in the section as well.

The final document, which reflects the proposals made by the Belarusian side, was adopted according to the results of the Forum.
